APPEARANCE
At first glance, Rabbitwind would look like a stray cat who had been left for dead. His cream colored fur is very short and matted from a lot of rough play - it happens when you live the life of a warrior. This cat looks like he has never had a bite to eat. From his side, you can see his rib cage and his tight, cream colored belly. He doesn't have much muscle on him, either. He is actually pretty average sized, but that doesn't mean much when you are so weak and fragile. Luckily, he was born with one great attribute - speed. His long legs and small body allow for him to quickly weave in and out of the battlefield. This may be typical for a Hillclan cat, but Rabbitwind really takes the cake. But the part he takes most proudly is his height - he can stand tall among most cats, but that doesn''t exactly make him strong, like I have said before.
His most attractive feature is definitely his eyes. They are a gleaming yellow green that seem to light up the entire area. Unfortunately, his eyes are also a curse, for you can read all of his emotions from them. So, as the common saying goes, it is a blessing and a curse.
As I said before, his entire pelt follows the same cream pattern, with some very light gray stripes along his front paws. Although his pelt may seem the same, there are some hidden characteristics that you may not notice at first glance. The most noticeable thing would definitely be his scar. Rabbitwind has a large scar from his left eye all the way back to his left ear, which is a bit split in two. This was received from a badger that attacked him and his sister in the territory, but that will be explained later. The attack would always stick with Rabbitwind mentally, but the badger decided to make that memory physical, too.
PERSONALITY
Rabbitwind, to say the least, is pretty easy going. He is pretty calm for the most part and doesn't like to make a scene. He likes to keep to himself but occasionally he will go socialize with his clanmates. He isn't shy by any means, and is actually quite confident. His main concern in life are his siblings, and those are the cats he surrounds himself with. He doesn't make much room for friends, but that doesn't mean he is friendless. Rabbitwind is pretty friendly and respectful, unless he is taken across the edge. You must not take his friendliness as him being a push over, because that is not him by any means. He will stand up for his loved ones and defend them with his life.
Although Rabbitwind does not socialize much, he is actually quite the charmer and is smooth with his words. For some reason, coming up with a witty reply or insult is simple to him. He's been that way since he was a kit, and it just stuck with him to his warrior days. His confidence also takes a paw in this, although it should never be mistaken for arrogance. He knows his skills and uses them to his best ability, but would never put down a cat who wasn't as skilled as him. It's just how his mother raised him. Though he may be slick with words, he has a bit of a hatred toward she-cats. Well, not hatred - but more of a distrust. He knows what they are capable of and is always wary about what he says around them. This does not mean he would not like a mate, but she would basically have to be perfect for him - which is nearly impossible to come by. Especially to Rabbitwind's standards.
HISTORY
Before Hillclan, Rabbitwind was known as Rabbit, his younger sister was Dove, and his oldest brother was Badger. The three never knew their father, as he refused to join the clans and left to somewhere unbeknownst to them. His fathers leaving hurt him immensely and he tried his best to understand.. but he just couldn't. As he got older, he began to cope with it more. Their mother, however, thought it was a great idea. The small family decided to join Hillclan since it was closest to their original home. Little did she know, this would be the clan that Rabbitwind would excel in the most. His slim body on the open moors was almost a perfect fit. We couldn't say the same for Badger, though.
Rabbitkit was born into a litter of three. He had one older brother (only by a few minutes) named Badgerkit and a younger sister named Dovekit. His mother named Badgerkit after his significantly larger size than the rest of the kits. Dovekit was named after her beautiful white pelt, which doves commonly take the color of. And finally, there was cream-colored Rabbitkit. If it isn't obvious, his name came from the color of his pelt. When they joined Hillclan, hey all chose to keep the same names, except they would add on the suffix.
The three were always extremely close to each other as they grew up, always training together and occasionally fighting, too. It was a typical sibling friendship. Since Dovepaw and Rabbitpaw were younger, they were both given the same mentor at the same time. He trained the two together and tried his best to show them their differences and their weaknesses. It helped out in the long run. Since Badgerpaw was just a bit older, he was given an old grumpy warrior as a mentor. Badgerpaw despised him, and he was pretty sure his mentor despised him too. But Badgerpaw got through it to his own surprise, and was given his warrior name a bit earlier than his siblings for his great skill in battle against Fireclan.
"Badgerstep! Badgerstep! Badgerstep!"
Badgerstep was named after his superior size, since he was so huge he wasn't exactly the quietest warrior, but you get the point. Finally, it was time for Dovepaw and Rabbitpaw to receive their warrior names. They were both out finishing their final assessment with their mentor. Rabbitpaw went to the moors, and brought back 2 plump rabbits. After he returned to his mentor, he was surprised to see that Dovepaw was not there. Usually, she beat Rabbitpaw in hunting. He wasn't the best. But she was no where to be seen. This could end badly.
Rabbitpaw and his mentor searched all throughout the moors, until they finally saw a inconceivable horror. It was Dovepaw, cowering from a badger in a tree! The badger sat at the base of the tree, swinging its massive paws wildly. Rabbitpaw panicked. He didn't know what to do. His mentor was smart. The pair took the badger on head first with one at the left side, the other at the right. The badger was confused, it didn't know who to attack. Well, it had to pick one. Unfortunately, that one was Rabbitpaw. Rabbitpaw was struck in the face and tore his ear. This was how he came to get his scar.
"Rabbitpaw! You're the fastest in the clan! Run to get help!"
Rabbitpaw ran like he had never ran before. The long warrior took off through the moors and burst into camp, yowling an alarm. He brought three senior warriors with him back to the scene, and together they chased off the badger. Unfortunately, the badger was powerful at managed to break Dovepaw's hind leg in the process. She would probably never become a warrior.
"Doveheart! Doveheart! Doveheart!"
But, once again she beat the odds and proved her clan wrong. She became Doveheart, and eventually mended her broken leg. She still has to take it easy from time to time, but it is better than doing nothing at all. And now, it was time to award the hero of this terrible day - Rabbitpaw.
"Rabbitwind! Rabbitwind! Rabbitwind!"
If you didn't already guess, Rabbitwind was awarded his name for his extreme speed in getting back to help and fighting off the badger. In his mentors words, they both would have perished if it wasn't for his apprentice. Rabbitwind took pride in his name, it was beautiful - and most importantly, it had purpose.
SAMPLE
A sleek, cream pelt weaved out and around the rabbit holes of the open moor. Only one thing was on Rabbitpaws mind - his sister. He could hear her cry and it hurt him immensely to have to retreat. The slim cat had ran as fast as he could, leaping over rocks and various bushes. Rabbitpaw burst into the jagged cliff that made the Hillclan camp, his eyes blazing with fear. "It's Dovepaw! There's a badger!" he yowled, not even taking the time to check if his clanmates were following. He turned away and burst back into the open moor. At this moment, there was only 2 things he could hear - his sister screaming, and a few fellow warriors behind him. He didn't like the idea of either one.. could they manage this badger? It was massive! Rabbitpaw tried to ignore the burning sensation in his ear, where the badger had almost ripped it right off. Blood trickled down into his creamy fur. He was scared. He had never seen a badger until today. As Rabbitpaw and the three other warriors came upon the tree, the badger was flailing his massive paws against the trunk, and their mentor was laying on the grass - dead. Dovepaw, remained in the tree.. Except her leg was shattered. It looked like she couldn't even move it. Rabbitpaw was so scared, but angry. Insanely angry.
As anger overtook him, he foolishly leaped onto the badgers back. Little did Rabbitpaw know, he wasn't the only one. His older brother, Badgerstep was to the right of him and another older warrior was on the left. The final warrior took the badger head to head. He lost an eye. After minutes of scuffling, the badger reared on his hind legs and shook Rabbitpaw off. The injured beast was sent yowling back to his set, somewhere off the Hillclan territory. Rabbitpaw was thrown into a tree, hurting his back. He felt as if he was carrying a million pounds. Luckily, he would survive. Unfortunately, his mentor did not face the same fate. He was killed by the badger before the patrol could arrive. Rabbitpaw himself offered to carry him back to camp, while Badgerstep took Dovepaw since she could not walk with a broken leg.
As the patrol returned to camp, the leader was impressed yet also disappointed. They had lost a good warrior today, and more importantly, injured an apprentice. Dovepaw would survive, though. After many moons, her broken leg had mended and became usable, though she would probably never see combat again. That same day, the leader had named her Doveheart for her strong heart and strength to carry on through that terrible day. Rabbitpaw was happy for his sister.. but what about him? What was his name going to be? Would he even get it? Had he done okay? The leader flicked his tail toward Rabbitpaw and gave a warm smile. "And you.." the meow came. Rabbitpaw could barely hold in his excitement. "do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?" Rabbitpaw nodded quickly, unable to hid his smile. "I do" meowed the slim cat, his voice shaky. The leader nodded and stepped forward, touching noses with the apprentice. "Then as leader of Hillclan, I give you your warrior name. Rabbitpaw, from this moment you will be known as Rabbitwind. Hillclan honors your extreme speed and courage today, and we welcome you as a full warrior of Hillclan."
Wow, Rabbitwind! The new warrior had never felt so happy in his life. The name was perfect, and it was perfect representation of him. The slim warrior padded up to his wounded sister and gave her a rough lick between the ears. "We're warriors now" he meowed with a smile. Doveheart nodded and forced a smile, trying her best to ignore the pain. "You'll be great, Rabbitwind." she said with a weak smile. "I know it"
