- [Crowpaw] [Ashenflight] - - - Night
Crowpaw ran over the moor her white paws drumming over the wind swept plains as she raced through the night; she couldn't stop, she couldn't slow down, she had to run! It was a deep rooted need that pulsed through her veins and seemed to feed her very soul. Taking a deep breath she surged on, her legs pushing her harder, faster. She took in the scent of the night air and the feel of the cooled air as it gusted through her dark fur which mingled into the darkened world around her.
The meeting that had ended just a few short moments ago within the clan's camp, had seemed to be a long one. It had started just as dusk was descending around them and now it seemed that night had stealthily made it's way very close behind. Camp was long behind her now, along with her newly appointed mentor, who happened to be deputy as well, but that wasn't the Warrior who she hoped to be following her. Jaystrike seemed busy so she had inquired if another Warrior would care to teach her a few things. With the help of Rabbitwind, she was able to gain the chance to learn from Ashenflight.
The black furred feline made her way to the Sandy Shore, pelted down slopes and gaining more speed. She wasn't the fastest cat in her clan, or even among the apprentices, yet she was able to use the downward momentum to her advantage; undaunted by the mounting speed. She seemed to sour over the grass as she neatly swerved around small shrubs and leap over mounds of earth.
The world of the night was very different then that of day and Crowpaw found it very difficult to navigate her way around the territory. Her brows furrowed in concentration as her eyes glowed dimly in the shadow of the night. She strained to see familiar landmarks but found that she was getting more information from the scents though they were also different because of the crisp cool smell of the night. She could scent pound waters and could hear the drone of frogs and crickets... the Sandy Shore was just ahead!
The young apprentice angled herself toward the shore and made her way toward it, not bothering to slow down at all. She narrowed her glowing gaze and spotted the pale shine of sand. She ran to it's edge and with a surge of determination and adrenaline she leaped up high, curling her body and arching herself until her belly faced the starry skies; in a rash attempt of a back flip. She was able to rotate herself completely and came in for a landing. She reached out with her front paws slayed wide, landing on the sand but it was too loose too fine and with her speed it sent her skidding forward landing on her chin in a splash of sand.
Crowpaw slid toward the pound, her hind paws digging behind her doing little to slow her down. With a low mewl of frustration she rolled and sat up using all four legs to stop her. She was able to stop just a whisker's breath from the waters. She coughed out a mouthful of sand, her tail lashing in agitation. Tipping her head back she let out a sneeze before raising to her paws and shaking out her thick pelt, sending a barrage of sand in every direction. She sat down again and gazed around herself slowly... what had come over her?
