"I used to rule the world, seas would rise when I gave the word. Now in the morning I sleep alone, sweep the streets I used to own..."
APPEARANCE
- Leaning toward the side of being a little chubby, this she-cat is close to average build for a "civilized" cat. Having lived as a kitty-pet her whole life, she has little muscle developed and is not nearly as fast as the clan cats, rogues, or loners of the area. She's been in minor scraps with other kitty-pets and a couple loners, but before she retained any real damage, her two-legs would normally come to her rescue and chase off the intruder. Her pelt is that of a grey tabby with white legs and paws, belly, chest, and muzzle. Short sleek fur is what makes up her pelt, soft and constantly clean due to her two-legs’ meticulous cleaning and grooming rituals for her. Her eyes are a yellow shade and seem to always be wide and curious, eager to take in the world around her. She wears a blue color with purple and grey tags on it, making it nearly impossible for her to move without making noise.
PERSONALITY
- She sees herself as a queen. This is due to the way that she was raised, the way that she has gone her whole life without her ever having to do anything for herself. She has developed a sense of entitlement and in the rare times that she has ever been denied anything in her life, she would throw a fit and go on a tantrum that at times would last for days. She is spoiled, partially because she has lived with a higher middle-class Hispanic family her whole life and also due to the fact that out of a litter of three, she was the only one that survived, but she doesn’t know this and her mother has never told her.
Paloma is self-centered and rarely thinks about anyone else, and when she has the only exceptions have been her mother and her two-leg. She has very little care for how anyone else feels, whether she knows them or not. A word that could be used to describe this she-cat would be spicy, she’s got the same attitude that the oldest of the two-leg children she grew up around has, defiant and indifferent. From time to time she acts like her younger self, playful and mischievous, especially when she finds an opportunity to playfully ambush a fellow kitty-pet or even one of the smaller dogs in the neighborhood. She rarely feels any kind of regret or remorse, but when she does… it is all-consuming. She’s a drama queen and anyone that knows her at all would accurately describe her as such.
HISTORY
- Paloma’s mother was a loner, known by the name of Sweets, at least to the cats of the area. When the two-legs’ offspring had first found her, they called her Dulce… which, ironically enough, came to the same meaning. She was named for her temperament and the way she was always purring. When the two-leg family discovered she was pregnant, they decided to take her in and give her a home. They figured the sweet old cat deserved better, and they certainly hoped to give her kittens a good home as well. The night that she gave birth to the kits was a stormy one… and while the birthing was fast, it was a tragic end. Of 3 kits, 2 of them were still-born, leaving Paloma to be the only kitten of the litter.
Paloma grew up cherished and extremely protected by both her mother and her housefolk. She was spoiled from the start, simply because she was born alive. Her mother spoiled her less than the two-legs did, which is what led to a lot of the kitten’s nasty temperament. As she grew up, it only got worse. She became convinced that she was some type of royalty by how the two-legs treated her, even as her mother grew older and would still be weary of the two-legs. As much as Dulce loved being out in the garden, and sometimes even venturing farther, her daughter hated to even leave the house, for fear of her pelt getting dirty mainly.
Now, at the age of thirty-six moons, the she-cat enjoys a luxurious life of leisure and has little plans of leaving it. Though she has gotten to venturing out into the gardens from time to time to soak up sun over the last few moons and has even started meeting other creatures. She doesn’t get along with most of them, but surely enough she should make some sort of decent acquaintance or another.
