she knew the day as clear as any, where the song birds would sing a mighty tune of a gentle robin that flew across the sky and was struck down by the mighty forest felines that patrolled what was once theirs. but not a species other then the birds knew the tale and yet a large feline prowled the forest floor then - thinking of all the animals that had given up life to become prey. this feline, a tabby brown and white female, was unusually tall for a female of her age of nine months and would grow impossibly taller in her upcoming months. but with her height towering over most cats; she had a nature of a small field mouse - timid and skittish almost to the point that she would use shrubs to hide her mighty frame from view. it wasn't that she was a easily scared cat, it was simply for the fact that she had her own nature of the world and chose to view it through rose-coloured glasses. life was a beautiful thing truly.
the forest was a light with wonders; with it's early evening setting. the world was beginning to grow around her. where one stood flowers bloomed to perfection now lay buds of the plants to scared to show their faces in the darkness. if only they knew of the beauty behind all of this. of the way the night animals graced the forest with such beauty and wonder that even the young female did not worry over fear of what could attack. she was to memorized by the way the tree leaves provided darkness and yet shone with such a brightness that she wondered if she should truly be frighten of the dark. it's wonders had always pledged her nightmares as terrors, but with one night heading out into the forest with her brothers she had discovered a wonder all it's own and it's show was just about to begin. her mind reflected back to that afternoon as she laid on the ground within camp; her whole body rigid with worry over not seeing her best and possibly only friend; beetlepaw, among the cats in camp.
she found him not much longer - or well; heard him. when she had found him hours ago she had simply told him to 'come at evening to the large oak! I have something to show you! I found them all my own!" while she wasn't known or keen on adventures or missions, she had thought it a wonderful idea to share her little hide away with her friend. tail swishing from side to side the young female lifted her amber eyes to the sky as the sun dibbed lower into the horizon and soon vanished all together. it was here that she sat in the darkness of the forest; eyes waiting and watch for movement. "hey you came!" her meow was clear as day when her eyes flickered over to wards the rustle of the brushes; only to be discouraged as a sparrow took flight into the sky above. it was then that her show began.
fireflies filtered their way into the sky welcoming her with warm blinking lights and with a soft giggle, the young she-cat lifted herself onto her hind legs and batted gently at the fireflies. [presto] [/presto]

MOOSEPAW
this is what it feels like. she thought with such a gentle voice, her large amber eyes opened and observing as the fire-flies danced across the sky. there was something eerily beautiful about the place she had discovered, like it was her own secret little grove, where the fireflies would dance their dance for just her - and she felt only slightly sad that she would be sharing it soon. then again, that cat she was sharing with happened to be her best, and only true, friend, beetlepaw. the other cat, only three moons younger then herself, had been a constant in the gentle giant's life since she had rushed to his aid last moon. in fact it was almost as if she had been sent to save him - for almost the exact same reason she had nearly perished and she owed the younger tom a debt.
his friendship was all she had in this world; and she was quite content with that. she had seen so little in her young life; a few passings and a new leader brought around - but those had been in all a good time for the young clan. she could remember scenting her first death, and in horror wailing to her mother who had only gently reassured her that life was the beautiful lie and that death was the horrible truth. that the cat was going to the truth now and that she was never going to be in pain again. and moosepaw liked that idea - more then the idea of these starry cats, and more then the idea of fading away for ever. her mother taught her of being brought back as a different, and to her she loved the idea.
whoa. moosepaw! it's a bug!
beetlepaw. was there, and in those moments moosepaw's dazed and dreamy look passed from her face to be replaced with a timid, but warm smile to wards her friend. so they are bugs. the young feline mused, her eyes watching as they blinked in and out of force, something she had never really cared for - knowing they were creatures, she hadn't guessed bugs. I will still think of them as tiny cats with wings whose bums glows. she mused happily before crouching her mighty form close to the ground, eyes pinned on the glowing bug before her. it was something she planned on getting, all gentle and kindly, she gave a hearty pounce - watching as the dirt flung up around her and the bug bleeped out of her sight.
I love this place!
her eyes turned to seethe huge grin on her friend's face, followed by a delighted giggle. and a warm glow filled her as she rolled onto her side, letting go the bug she had captured before sighing in happiness. there was a time when she had come here all by herself; where she wished nothing but her dreams and aloneness to follow her. now looking at her friend from where she lay she grinned happily; a purr rumbling through her chest as he stretched her legs into the air, tail flat against the ground to provide balance as the first bug dropped onto a pad of her paw.
"I come here a lot, I haven't shown another soul, so you must keep it a secret."
she meowed grinning, she was a terrible liar, and had on more then one occasion been told so; she had never been asked directly where she was going. so she had simply said a walk, and a walk she did take to get to her secret place. now sharing it with beetlepaw, she felt a burden wash away from her and she smiled gently up at the firefly upon her paw. it blinked it's light at her, as if telling her that it welcomed her new companion and to the young feline, she felt this was how it was suppose to happen. tail swishing on the ground now she turned to look at her friend, laying on her side with her paws tucked neatly into her. she turned her head towards her friend and soft, shy smile, one she always used with others. a gentle whisper leaving her maw;
"I wish I could live here forever."
