Grayscar was dreaming he had fallen asleep earlier from lack of sleep really, but it seemed that his mind didn't want him to get the rest he so deserved. As always he dreamed of something that had happened in his past, this time he dreamed of the time his mother had killed his siblings. The gray scar-covered tom woke with a gasp his heart pounding, he was glad that he didn't toss and turn in his nest though it didn't really matter since it was sunhigh. The tom scrambled to his paws fluffing out his fur the tip of his tail twitching back and forth. 'I should do something for the clan, they were so nice to take me in, and here I am sleeping the day away,' he thought heading out of the warrior den. Looking around he saw that no one else was in camp, it wasn't really surprised that the clearing was empty, he supposed that everyone was out hunting, patrolling, or training. Letting a sigh escape his maw he headed out of camp flicking his ears back and forth.
Once the tom was out of camp he headed deeper into the territory, every now and then having to fight his way through brambles but he didn't really care. The tom saw a tree nearby with some brambles near it and headed towards the tree pricking his ears to listen to any sounds. He curled up on the roots of the tree wondering if he could get some more sleep, but he really wanted to do something for his clan. 'To bad I'm a terrible hunter, but I suppose I could try hunting some,' he thought getting to his paws and tasted the air trying to catch any scent of prey. After tasting the air for a few minutes he caught the scent of a thrush and his eyes lit up, after pinpointing his quarry he dropped into a crouch and began to stalk towards the thrush with narrowed eyes. Once he was sure he was close enough he pounced but he accidentally leapt to far and landed a few mouselengths past the thrush. "Mousedung," he hissed watching it fly away his tail twitching in irritation.
He tried to leap after it but ended up tripping over a bramble busy and came crashing down, letting out a grunt as he hit the ground getting the wind knocked out of him. Wincing he scrambled back onto his paws shaking bramble out of his fur, he couldn't believe that he had just done something like that, it was so unlike him to trip over stuff. "Stupid brambles," he hissed looking down at himself to make sure that he wasn't seriously hurt. 'Good looks like I'm not serious hurt, the brambles must have not pierced my skin,' he thought letting out a sigh and shook his head. Suddenly his ears swiveled catching the sound of paw steps, the tom looked around wondering if someone was coming towards him.
ooc: kind of sucks.

A short broad muzzle lifted into the air and scented the breeze, taking in a deep whiff of the fresh air crisp with hint of rain which seemed to promise to come in a day or so. Pale green eyes looked up toward the forest canopy, the gaze matching the light leaves high above, yet the branches were so thick in that part of the territory that she couldn’t see the sky past them. It didn’t bother the she-cat though, she felt quite content within the forest sheltered and protected by the trees, which seemed to whisper to her. Sunstreak almost purred as she padded along, nimbly stepped over the roots and twigs along the forest floor, while gracefully weaving around the bushes and underbrush; at times like this she was happy to be a bit smaller then her clanmates and her short fur certainly helped, she couldn’t imagine what a pain it would be to have long fur getting caught in every branch or thorn. The Warrior pricked her ears listening for traces of life around her, but that wasn’t so hard, she could her birds several trees away through all the rustling of the forest winds and there! A mouse was scurrying away in its hole; she was careful at how she moved and wondered if she was the cause for startling it, but she shrugged the thought aside and carried on her way. The clan wasn’t in any food shortage so there was no need to get serious in her hunting. At the moment Sunstreak was actually sorting out her own thoughts and wondered about her uncle, but as she tried to make sense of the mess within her mind she heard a loud rustle just ahead of her. She stiffened and sprung into attention, her gaze taking on a different look as she quickly became alert and vigilant. She crouched down and swiftly padded forward, but she didn’t get too far when a thrush leaped up in front of her. Her reflexes didn’t fail her now. She raised herself and brought her front paws down on the bird, pinning its wings down and quickly biting down on its neck. She felt the thrush twitch one last time before going limp, but she didn’t release her hold. She stood straight and looked to the direction it came, wondering what startled it. Sunstreak padded over the small ridge and looked down, unable to smell anything past the feathers she relied on her eyesight and spotted a gray scarred tom. She smiled behind the thrush her eyes softening from their previous serious glare. She recognized this cat; he was a clanmate! She set the thrush down and looked back to her denmate. “Grayscar, right?” She greeted him with a smile. It was not a hard name to remember given his appearance. Then she spotted that his fur seemed a bit ruffled and the ground near him was a bit scuffed up… the signs of a bit of a struggle. A flicker of worry glinted in her gaze as she frowned slightly. “Are you hurt?” She asked stepping over the thrush to approach Grayscar.

Grayscar was licking the few scratches he had gotten from the brambles when he heard a voice, making his head snap up in surprise. He looked around before spotting Sunstreak above him, he really didn't know the she-cat to well but he did know her name. "That's right my names Grayscar," he meowed warily flicking his ears back and forth. "Your Sunstreak right, I've seen you around camp but we've never spoken before," he meowed his eyes still fixed on her. Maybe because of all the things that had happened in his past, he had trust-issues. Not that anyone really knew his past so a lot of his clan mates usually gave him strange looks when they saw his wariness.
The tom pricked his ears hearing her question and frowned wondering what had brought up the question. For a minute he had forgotten about the bramble incident, and only the sting of the scratches he had gotten from the brambles brought the bramble incident to memory. "Oh, I'm fine, I decided to have a battle with brambles," he meowed frowning. "I've been hurt way worse then this, a few brambles don't really cause me much pain," he meowed the tip of his tail twitching. What he was saying was truth the incident with the brambles hadn't really hurt him that bad.
Because of all the things his parents had done to him, trying to kill him and all the pain they had caused him, he had a high tolerance to pain. The tom shook his head to clear his thoughts and blinked. He hadn't been paying attention but he had now noticed the thrush behind the warrior and he tilted his head to the side. "Nice catch, I wish I could be a good hunter, but I suck t hunting," the warrior meowed. In fact he wasn't that good at hunting, and even though he was a good fighter he hated fighting. He didn't like hurting others which was why it hurt him when he had accidentally killed his father.

Sunstreak was pleased that she did indeed get the tom’s name right, though she already had little doubt. She was a bit surprised that he remembered her name though; they weren’t close at all and this was their first actual interaction… she was mildly impressed with his excellent memory. She returned her attention to any possible injuries her clanmate may have. He was covered in scars… she wouldn’t be surprised if he turned out to be very accident prone. She wasn’t about to let one of her comrades get injured and not do anything about it! The she-cat mewed in amusement at his comment about the battle against the brambles and she was soon informed that there wasn’t anything to be worried about; or so he seemed to tell her… she wasn’t all so convinced. She gave him a skeptical look but wasn’t sure how to press the issue. She didn’t smell any blood… but that was hard to tell with the smell of thrush still fresh in her nose. Sunstreak followed Grayscar’s gaze as he mentioned her catch and she smiled once more, though it was short lived when she heard how he said what a bad hunter he was. She shook her head and smiled again. “Thanks, but I wouldn’t have been able to catch that if it wasn’t for you.” She twitched her whiskers in slight embarrassment. “If I’m not motivated I wouldn’t be able to catch a mouse even if it fell on my face!” She flicked her tail as if dismissing the matter. She looked him over again her heart flinching in sympathy as she gazed at his scars, but she looked back at his face, not wanting to stare so much in case is bothered him. She recalled how wary and tense this feline always seemed to be… and what with how down he seemed she felt he could really do for some sort of cheering up or relaxation. She smiled her eyes taking on an alluring flash of warmth as she inched a bit closer to the tom. “Would you like me to groom you?” She asked her voice like silk, as she turned her head away coyly. “Wouldn’t want any bramble thorns in your pelt, disrupting your sleep right?” Sunstreak tilted her head sniffing along his pelt, silently waiting for permission. She knew that usually cats would only groom one another if they knew each other well enough, yet they were clanmates so that was good enough wasn’t it? She recalled how nice it felt to be groomed by her mother and uncle; it was relaxing and by the looks of things Grayscar could do with a bit of relaxing… though the she-cat didn’t realize that she was suddenly putting on the charm; subconsciously seducing the other Warrior.

Grayscar watched the warrior he didn't really know much about her but he could see that she was surprised that he had remembered his mind. He had been born with an excellent memory which would probably be why he would make a great medicine cat. Of course the tom had no idea that he would end up becoming Treeclans medicine cat in the near future. He had spoken to Smoke some up what a medicine did when he had run into her but he hadn't given it much thought since. He figured his terrible past would keep him as a warrior forever even though he didn't really like fighting. He despised fighting but he decided to keep that to himself. He had told Smoke how he felt about fighting but he wasn't sure how another warrior would take the fact that he didn't like fighting. He figured that if his clan mates found out how much he despised fighting, that they would call him a coward.
The tom snapped out of his thoughts as the she-cat spoke and he listened intently to what she had to say not wanting to be rude. "I suppose that's true, but I'm afraid I pushed down to hard when I was hunting the thrush, I always forget that I have to be far away from the prey when I hunt since I have a lot of power in my hind legs," he meowed quietly. Usually he would stay silent but since this she-cat had went out of her way to speak to him he figured it would be rude if he didn't speak back. 'I still haven't talked as much as I did when I ran into Smoke the other day,' he thought flicking his ears back and forth. He hoped his clan mate didn't think he was rude because he still couldn't get rid of the blunt tone when talking no matter how much he tried. He didn't like sounding blunt but he supposed because of his past he had gotten that way because of that.
Grayscar started in surprise when she asked him if she wanted him to groom his fur and he stared at her fur a few minutes before dropping his gaze. "It wouldn't take thorns to keep me awake, nightmares do a good enough job with that," he meowed the tip of his tail twitching back and forth. "But if you want to groom my fur you can, I'm not you so it isn't up to me to decide what you can and can't do," he meowed tilting his head back to gaze up at the sky for a minute before returning his attention to his clan mate. "Everyone has a free will and can do what ever they want, of course one cat you might have to listen to is our leader, but I'm sure our leader wouldn't have anything against you grooming my fur, but if you want I can ask him," he meowed his mew slightly teasing and amused but then his emotionless mask snapped back down over his face.
ooc: He's is opening up really slowly, but she could easily break through his walls. I also decided to make his tease her a little.

Still the she-cat was unaware about her advances on the tom; all she knew was that she’d like to get closer to this clanmates of hers. She wouldn’t mind spending time with him and he seemed like he could really use companionship, which she’d be more than happy to offer. Every cat had the right to be given affection and attention… this one seemed long overdue for that. Sunstreak didn’t know that Grayscar wasn’t good at hunting or fighting, or that he had met up with a loner, yet it didn’t matter to her. He was her ally and hopefully he could become a companion as well; one could never be short on those. She wanted to get close with more of her clanmates and this was an excellent chance to do so. She felt elated. It seemed that the tom wasn’t used to hunting… from what he said it sounded as though he was still struggling on the more basic factors, yet true enough they could be very difficult to overcome… however if one practiced and hunted enough, surely they’d surpass those challenges… right? She listened to him with a bit of a somber look, her gaze distant as she tried to read her clanmate and understand him better. She could see his ears moving back and forth and she guessed that there was something on his mind being tossed around and inspected within his thoughts. What was troubling him so much? Sunstreak also noticed that his voice sounded dull… as if lacking a great deal of spirit or energy and this didn’t sound like a small spell of dejection, but something that became the result of an event which left scars deeper than those on his pelt. She couldn’t be sure though… she hadn’t come across many cats who had this sort of trait, yet from her past experience that was her closest guess, but there was no chance she’d be able to guess at the finer details nor would she wish to pry it from him… though she did feel compelled to lessen whatever distress he felt. The Warrior frowned slightly and turned her head to one side as he lowered his own gaze and mentioned nightmares, causing her eyes to grow dark with worry and something like anger… anger that a cat could be tormented so much and that there wasn’t much that could be done about it! Anger that something or someone could cause a cat to become like this, but she swept her expression away with a bit of a pained, sympathetic smile. When Grayscar spoke again, Sunstreak let out a small mew of laughter as she nuzzled his fur. “My free will shouldn’t mean I can step on the free will of others.” She spoke against the tom’s pelt and she laughed a bit once more. “Our leader may give out commands but he shouldn’t have any right in telling me who I can or cannot groom.” With that she rasped her tongue over Grayscar’s hind leg over to his lower back. “I might have something to say about that if he tries.” She muttered before licking at the fur again. She raised a paw and rested it on Grayscar’s back while she moved herself were she could groom him better. Allowing her tongue to brush through her fur and gently rub over his scared flesh. Her lips seemed to search over his skin for any bits which her fangs would quickly yet carefully pull out. She spat out a few thorns and clumps of earth as she gently pulled out the tangles in his coat. While she groomed she made sure to be especially alert to how she was positioning the strokes of her tongue, making sure to massage his tense muscles as she cleaned him. Soon she even began to purr as she worked, truly enjoying the closeness of another feline; she hadn’t been this close to someone since her uncle vanished and it had been quite lonely.
